Description

Fynbos Ridge is set amongst fragrant Fynbos. There are spectacular mountain views and the property abounds with abundant birdlife. The secluded pool is ideal to relax and unwind, or one can enjoy the many activities in the vicinity – forest or coastal hiking trails, glorious beaches, top golf courses, whale watching ocean safaris.
Choose between a luxurious suite in the gracious Cape-style Manor House or a spacious
self-catering cottage, newly refurbished with stone bath tubs. Delicious dining and alfresco breakfasts are available, or pick your own salad from the organic vegetable garden.
Fynbos Ridge is 5-star graded with the TGCSA, and is Carbon Neutral Approved.

Delicious breakfasts served in the dining room of the Country House, or alfresco on the verandah. We offer a buffet of fruit, cereal, cheeses and meats, freshly baked croissants and scones as well as full English breakfasts made to order.

In the evening, fine dining is available, made with the freshest locally sourced ingredients. Crunchy salads and sweet young vegetables, freshly picked from our organic herb and vegetable gardens. All accompanied by home made bread, straight from the oven.

Passionate chef Brian, has been awarded many "Michelin Stars" by our guests, and the menu changes daily, depending on what is fresh and in season.

Freshly cooked meals are also delivered to the cottages.

Accommodation

At Fynbos Ridge you can choose between bed and breakfast accommodation in the Country House, or self-catering in the garden cottages and studio apartment.

Country House

The Country House is a large Cape Dutch design guesthouse which has 4 double luxury bedrooms and 1 double superior luxury bedroom - each with full en-suite bathroom. Full breakfasts and dinners by arrangement are served in the alfresco dining room.

Both the formal and informal lounges have log fireplaces and there is a long outdoor patio where guests can enjoy mountain views whilst having their breakfasts and dinners.

All the rooms are named after one of our beautiful indigenous flowers.

Cottages & Studio/Apartment - Self-catering or Bed and Breakfast

Virgilia Studio/Apartment

Virgilia is a spacious (70 sq. metres) north facing studio/apartment suitable for two guests. Situated on the first floor of the Country House, it has its own separate entrance and a balcony from which to appreciate the uninterrupted mountain views. There is a well equipped kitchen for the self-catering guest, or breakfast and dinner may be enjoyed in the Country House.

Cottages

We have 3 two-bedroom cottages. Each spacious cottage (140 sq. metres) is well equipped, has two bathrooms, and sleeps up to 5 people in luxury and comfort.

Apart from the tasteful furnishings, there are log fires in the lounge and main bedroom for the cooler evenings, as well as a private patio with a built-in barbecue. The cottages and the studio/apartment are all named after one of our beautiful indigenous flowers. Although our cottages are fully equipped for self-catering, breakfasts and dinners are available by arrangement in our Country House. Meals can also be supplied to the cottages.

Directions

Coming from George airport: Turn right out of the airport property. Drive until you see sign to N2, turn left onto the N2 highway, and stay on the N2 through Sedgefield and Knysna. Travel for 23 km when you will see a brown national road sign on the left hand side of the road with Fynbos Ridge (and a picture of a bed). 200 metres AFTER the sign, turn left into the entrance and follow the signs to Fynbos Ridge and office. Coming from Cape Town: Take the N2 and drive through Knysna. Travel for 23 km when you will see a brown national road sign on the left hand side of the road with Fynbos Ridge (and a picture of a bed). 200 metres AFTER the sign, turn left into the entrance and follow the signs to Fynbos Ridge and office. Coming from Port Elizabeth: Take the N2 towards Cape Town/George. Stay on the N2 and do not take any of the turnoffs into Plettenberg Bay. 7klm after Plettenberg Bay you will see a brown national road sign on the left hand side of the road with Fynbos Ridge (and a picture of a bed). 200 metres AFTER the sign, turn right into the entrance and follow the signs to Fynbos Ridge and office.
