Situated 10km west of South Africa's premier retort town of Plettenberg Bay with it's endless golden beaches, and 20km east of the lagoon town of Knysna, the hotel is surrounded by rich indigenous forests and framed by the majestic Tsitsikamma mountains. The gracious, original homestead is reminiscent of the traditional country architecture of the region.
In the extensive gardens surrounding the manor house are 23 luxurious guest suites, each one individually decorated and designed for the absolute comfort and privacy that one would expect from a 'Relais & Chateaux' property.

DirectionsGETTING THERE: Hunter’s Country House is situated between the coastal towns of Plettenberg Bay and Kynsna on the scenic Garden Route of the Western Cape. Only 10km from Plettenberg Bay and 22km from Knysna along the N2, our signboards are clearly visible at the entrance of our access road, which will take you to the security entrance of the Estate.
By Road: Hunter’s is approximately an hour from George, two and a half hours from Port Elizabeth, and three hours’ drive from Gorah necessitating either car rental or road transfer, both readily available. GPS coordinates: S34° 02’ 39.5” E023° 15’ 55.9”
By Air: There are scheduled flights daily to George and Port Elizabeth from all main centres in South Africa. Alternatively, charter flights to nearby Plettenberg Bay Airport are available. |
